WCC news: WCC general secretary will share insights at World Methodist Conference in Sweden

World Council of Churches general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay will attend part of the World Methodist Conference being held in Gothenburg, Sweden from 13-18 August.

Pillay will preach during the council meeting on 14 August, will participate in Korean Peace Night on 15 August, and will attend an ecumenical luncheon on 16 August. 

The gathering, which is convening under the theme “On The Move,” will also have sub-themes including “Migration,” “Pilgrimage,” and “Guiding Lights.”

The World Methodist Conference meets once every five years so that participants can experience the inspiration, education, fellowship, and diversity found in a global family of believers who stand in the Wesleyan tradition. Methodists from more than 132 countries around the world will attend.
