Weekly Outlook - Olympia overture approved with amendment

Dear readers,

And just like that, the 226th General Assembly is a wrap! 

I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit relieved to write those words. Covering GA is a mammoth task for our small staff — and we couldn't do it without our amazing team of freelance reporters and photographers!

For as much stress as it can cause in my work life, I do always find the assembly to be encouraging as well. As I watched the gathering work through committee recommendations, especially the controversial ones, my main thought was, "This is impressive." There were so many voices in the room representing a diverse denomination. And somehow all these unique perspectives came together in a democratic way to move forward, to shape our future. That gives me hope. 

The Outlook still has our work cut out for us! We have lots of articles in production covering what happened at GA and why it matters. So stay tuned for more.
