Montreat Summer Staff: How Ten Weeks Can Have an Impact - The Montreat Summer Staff program is an opportunity for college-aged young adults to gain work experience and make life-long friendships as they spend ten enriching weeks in the quaint town of Montreat, North Carolina. While here, they work together to create a loving community for everyone they encounter. Below, we’ve detailed five ways that this experience had an impact on staff this summer.
01. New & Old Friends - Summer Staff journeyed to Montreat from all over the country. While here, they made plenty of connections, quickly forming friendships that will last a lifetime.
02. Personal Growth - In keeping with Montreat’s mission, Summer Staff experienced transformation and self-discovery supported by mentors and peers.
03. Work Experience - With positions spanning a variety of fields and interests, Summer Staff gainedpractical on-the-job work experience that can help kick-start their careers.
04. Build Community - Summer Staff did more than just work together. They also participated in pickleball tournaments, pottery nights, Bible studies, mixers, and more.
05. Exploring Nature - Of course we have to mention the Montreat Wilderness! While in Montreat, staff enjoyed hiking, went hammocking by Flat Creek, and saw plenty of bears.
