Dear Friends,
God's plan to fill the earth with godly generations was given to the first family in Genesis 1:28. However, their disobedience led to a world filled with ungodliness, causing God to regret creating humankind and deciding to destroy them (Genesis 6:3-7). Yet one man,Noah, whose faithfulness and righteousness changed the course of human history, was chosen by God to continue His plan (Genesis 6:9). Despite living in a world of darkness and sin, Noah remained faithful.
None of his contemporaries, likely including his own relatives, qualified to enter the ark and be saved. Noah’s faithfulness can be traced back to his grandfather, Enoch, who "walked faithfully with God" (Genesis 5:24). Enoch lived a notably shorter life than his ancestors, only 365 years, yet his legacy of faith deeply influenced Noah. Enoch's son, Methuselah, lived 969 years, and his own son, Lamech, lived 777 years (Genesis 5:31).
The story of Enoch and his godliness would have had a profound impact on Noah. Stories of godly and righteous people live longer and make great impact than the physical life of unrighteous men and women. Though Enoch lived the shortest in the list of his ancestors, his story inspired his grandson which I believe saved the world from total annihilation.
The WEA Family Challenge aims to inspire godly generations through the influence of parents and grandparents in every church and community, establishing God's Kingdom of righteousness and truth.
As Jesus shared about his coming, he talked about us facing similar time like that of Noah's, with self-centered living becoming prevalent. (Matthew 24: 37-39). Hence the focus of the WEA Family Challenge is to secure our generation’s salvation through discipleship in every home. Let’s unite in preparing generations for Christ, so we can stand before our Lord and King when He returns.
