September in Montreat

News Corner

You can now reserve Montreat Conference Center housing for 2025's Worship & Music Conference, June 15-20, 2025, or June 22-27, 2025. This conference provides a vital worship experience for participants of all ages as well as training and continuing education for church professionals. Space is already filling up, so don't wait to make a reservation. (Please note that conference registration is not included and will open on the Presbyterian Association of Musician's website on December 5.)

Make a trip to Montreat before November 1 for a Fall Sabbath Getaway! If you are looking for a way to enjoy the mountains sans schedule, this is a perfect opportunity to do so. Spend your time in prayer, study, listening for God's voice, or reconnecting with nature in the Montreat Wilderness. Make a reservation on our website.

Later this month, we will welcome the 2025 Montreat Youth Conference and Middle School Conference Planning Teams. This amazing group of volunteers will be hard at work as they prepare to welcome over 3,500 youth next summer. If you would like to help shape future conferences, consider applying for one of our 2026 Planning Teams! We are accepting applications through October 15, 2024. Learn more.

Over 100 art and craft enthusiasts will join us this month for our annual Fall Craft Week. This year's conference will feature photography, wood working, colored pencil drawing, and more! Learn more about the range of offerings and this community built on a shared love of the arts by clicking here. Limited spaces remain in select classes only.

Calling all small church leaders! Have you signed up for Wee Kirk Conference yet? Wee Kirk is our way of providing support for pastors and other church leaders serving small-membership congregations. During this conference, you'll find Christ-centered opportunities for inspiration, encouragement, and community. Explore track options on our website.

There is still time to sign up for the Earth & Soul Retreat with John Philip Newell. During this year's event, participants will seek to reawaken to the sacredness of the human imagination and prophetic vision by studying the teachings of Alexander John Scott, George MacLeod, and Kenneth White. Sign up here.

Montreat is also excited to celebrate the release of John Philip Newell’s latest book, The Great Search: Turning to Earth and Soul in the Quest for Healing and Home! On October 24, we will host a book release celebration which will include wine, music and song, readings by John Philip, and the opportunity to purchase the book and have copies signed. You are invited to join us in-person or to tune in via livestream. Tickets are available now on our website.

Registration is currently open for the 2025 Arts, Recreation, and Worship Conference (ARW). Hosted in partnership with re:create, ARW is a week-long experiential opportunity to participate in recreation, worship, community, creativity, and the arts. Learn more.

Discovering Renewal

April 22-25, 2025

"My favorite part of Discovering Renewal was the fellowship I experienced and the insights shared among my group mates."

-Discovering Renewal Participant

Discovering Renewal, our retreat focused on combatting burnout through simple, spiritual practices, will return for its third installment next April. In addition to finding renewal through a chosen activity track, participants will also experience renewal by connecting with other attendees - many of whom go on to become close friends.

Montreat Happens When You Give!

Summer has come to an end in the valley and there are so many Montreat memories to be grateful for. From rock hopping in the creek, to hiking one of Montreat's many trails, to Big Circle Mountain Dances in The Barn, and our Summer Worship Series in Anderson Auditorium, this summer was packed full of Montreat fun!

Each and every one of these Montreat memories is impacted by those that support Montreat through gifts made to the Montreat Fund. Donors to the Montreat Fund bridge the gap between Montreat's missional programming and the cost of running a year-round conference center. Your gift to the Montreat Fund is a tax-deductible way to show your support for this special place and its mission.

There are so many ways to give!
