UPSem Family in the Wake of Hurricane Milton

Thank you for the outpouring of support for the victims and communities impacted last week by Hurricane Helene. Less than two weeks later, Hurricane Milton delivered a second punch to the rain and sea-soaked western coast of Florida, stirring up storms across the state and region.

The UPSem community is especially mindful of the nearly 100 alumni, friends, supporting organizations, and related churches impacted by this latest storm.  I cannot imagine how you feel amid so much distress--I pray that you find some sense of inner calm in the midst of the chaos. Friends, know you are remembered in our prayers and through our gifts and activities. We are with you during these days of grief and loss. We will remain with you as we await the new heaven, the new earth, and the new life that will emerge on the other side of this storm.

Rebuilding after such catastrophic events will take the whole body of Christ, the Church and more. Join us in contributing what you can in your community and to others who are dedicated to rescue and relief including:

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance

Donate Now - Online Donations | American Red Cross

And when you are able, we would love to hear from you. Please share your personal story via voicemail at 804-278-4206 or email to WeAreUnion@UPSem.edu. These stories will be curated and shared, like this one from a 4th year MDiv & MACE dual degree student, Daniel Coffey who serves a community and church struck hard by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina and Appalachia.

In Christian love and hope,

Jacq
