President of the Uniting Church Rev Charissa Suli launched the Uniting Church's Week for Peace in the Middle East with prayer and worship earlier today, streaming live from Indonesia where she is visiting our church partners. In case you missed it, watch the launch on Facebook now. Today begins the Uniting Church's national Week of Prayer for Peace, called by the President last week following devastating bombings in Lebanon and arising from our sustained and deep grief for the region. The Week of Prayer will run from 29 September - 5 October. As strikes on Lebanon continue today, and this conflict continues its rampage of suffering and loss on all sides, we urge every part of the Uniting Church to join in praying for an urgent end to violence and for a just peace to prevail in this part of the world.
