WCC acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca will host the meeting with an agenda prepared by a planning team of ecumenical partners. Those gathered include mission and develop agencies that support the programmatic work of the WCC.
Those participants will try to develop a common understanding of how COVID-19 is impacting the work of specialized ministries and ecumenical cooperation.
Representatives from specialized ministries and WCC round table partners will also make plans for meaningful participation at the WCC 11th Assembly in Karlsruhe, Germany in September 2021.
Ecumenical partners received invitations in 2019 to nominate delegated representatives to the assembly, to plan their involvement and to help support the assembly budget. At “Working Together,” they will share information about what is being planned and how specialised ministries and round table partners are involved. They will also consult on the development of ecumenical conversations.
In addition, participants will share information and gather feedback on WCC programmatic work and operations.
The meeting, though this year occurring online instead of at the Bossey Ecumenical Institute, maintains the annual tradition of gathering in May with, WCC round table partners and specialized ministries.
