LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL has named Martha Wright as their executive director. She comes to the Chapel after seven years at Crittenton Services, Inc., where she served as director of development. Wright has worked in nonprofit organizations for more than 25 years, including a prior stint at the Chapel. Her church-related work includes coordinating a Lilly Endowments project that supported 17 national faith-based service programs. Wright is active in the Wheeling community and is currently on the planning commission for the city.
“I am excited to return to the Chapel. It is an important community resource with a long and honored tradition of service," says Wright. "I look forward to working with the Chapel's dedicated staff, board and its community partners."
“I am thrilled to have Martha back at the Chapel,” says the Rev. David Demarest, president of the Chapel’s Board of Directors, “She brings a wealth of experience to the position, along with extensive connections in the community. We look forward to forming new partnerships under her leadership, so we may reach more children to feed their minds, their bodies, and their spirits.”
Laughlin Memorial Chapel has been operating in the East Wheeling Neighborhood, serving children and their families for more than 100 years as a mission of the Presbyterian Church. The mission of LMC is to care for and empower families and others by working cooperatively with existing community groups so that the standard and quality of life in the greater Wheeling area are enhanced and reflect God's love.
The Chapel provides no-cost afterschool, summer and recreational programs for young people grades K-8.
For more information, please contact Wright at director@laughlinmemorialchapel.org.

THE JUNE 9, 2020, stated meeting of presbytery has been cancelled. Out of an abundance of caution, the Leadership Commission feels it unwise to have an in-person meeting of that size. The next stated meeting will be on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, 6:00 p.m. at Two Ridges Presbyterian Church, Wintersville, OH.
