May is Mental Health Awareness Month, but it is critical to continue the conversation year-round. By talking about mental health and normalizing the conversation, we fight the stigma that prevents many of us from seeking help. In recent months, public health officials have sounded the alarm regarding COVID-19’s impact on our psychological health. According to a Kaiser Family Foundation poll, 56 percent of Americans reported that worry or stress related to the outbreak has led to at least one negative mental health effect. For these reasons, we need to continue the conversation. Talking about our mental health can free us to seek help, find people who can relate, and move toward greater well-being.
