After the headlines fade, there’s still work to be done to help communities rebuild and recover. That’s why this Giving Tuesday—November 29—your gifts will support the United Church’s vital emergency response long- and short-term work. Every gift counts. Make a life-saving gift this Giving Tuesday.

Make Providing Emergency Support a Leadership Priority on Giving Tuesday

This Giving Tuesday —November 29—please encourage all those in your church network to support the United Church’s vital emergency response work, providing critical support like food, water, shelter, counselling and rebuilding efforts. Check out and share the November 27 Mission & Service story about the appeal.

Gifts with Vision

“Instead of Christmas stockings for ourselves, we do something for others. It is always such a wonderful experience, in the midst of all our blessings, to stop and give as a family.” (P.I.)

This year, instead of “stuff,” choose gifts that make a difference, from the comfort of home, with no packaging or wrapping needed. A Gifts with Vision gift supports the work of one or more of our Mission & Service partners—work that brings about meaningful change in Canada and across the world.

Giving Tuesday Resources

Giving Tuesday is next month. Now’s the time to get ready with these resources from CanadaHelps.

Worship Without Stewardship Is Like Peanut Butter Without Jam

It’s OK once in a while, but so much better together! Find the “jam” for your worship on our Stewardship in Worship webpage
  • Full worship liturgies, prayers, sermons and kids/youth ideas for most seasons of the church year.
  • Stewardship Seconds: Short, pithy sayings that pack a punch, to help infiltrate stewardship thinking into your community of faith. Add them to newsletters, worship, announcements, webpages, wherever people gather!
  • Offering Introductions and Dedication Prayers: The offering time in worship is NOT about collecting money! It is about growing generous disciples and stewards. These Introductions and Dedication Prayers, for each Sunday of the year, will help.

If You Read Just ONE Book This Month:

Hybrid Hope: Church of the Future for Churches with a Future

Hybrid Hope is a collection of wisdom from pastors and professionals who are, right now, in the field doing the work of hybrid church.”

GOD’S MISSION, OUR GIFTS is your newsletter. We want to provide news and information that you can use in your community of faith, whether you’re a minister, a board member, an administrator, a treasurer, or anyone else who wants to make a difference.
