Update from the World Council of Churches 2022 Assembly

From August 31-September 8, the World Council of Churches held its 11th Assembly in Karlsruhe, Germany. The WCC brings together over 450 different Christian denominations from around the world. The AME delegation was led by Ecumenical Affairs Officer Bishop Jeffery N. Leath. TCR News Editor Rev. Jazmine Brooks was on the ground as well.

AMEs participated in various committees and Rev. Dr. Jennifer Leath was elected to serve on the WCC's Central Committee. Retired Bishop Vashti M. McKenzie attended in her capacity as Interim President of the National Council of Churches of Christ of the United States.
