Embracing the Spirit: Innovation and Growth Grants, Educational Opportunities, and more!🌻

Embrace the Spirit and Get Creative!

Chalkboard with text: "Be Creative"

As the country comes out from under pandemic restriction, communities of faith continue to rethink their ideas of worship and ministry and create new ways of engaging with people, supporting neighbours, and creating resilient communities. We are in a time of reimagining what is possible for the world and for the church as we move through last half of 2022!

What are your dreams for your community of faith? We are now accepting applications for both Innovation Grants of up to $5,000 and Growth Grants of up to $25,000, until October 15, 2022.

A consultation with an EDGE staff member is mandatory for this granting period. Reach out to us at embracingthespirit@united-church.ca before October 7, to schedule a one-on-one conversation about your community of faith and your idea.

Need inspiration? See the story map of initiatives that are already happening across the country.

We look forward to hearing about your innovative ideas!

Theory of Change with Chris Rotolo
What impact are you having? How do you know? What difference is your program or ministry making? Learn what your mission is and understand the roles required to achieve it. We can have a greater impact if we think strategically about our desired impact while planning, implementing, and evaluating our programs.

Our Theory of Change workshop helps attendees break their program down into its attendant parts, differentiating between “what you do” and “what you achieve.” A Theory of Change provides a roadmap that outlines the steps by which you plan to achieve your goal.

A Theory of Change helps align your stakeholders to your larger mission and understand their role in achieving it. By the end of the program, you will determine the precise link between your program’s activities and outcomes for the purposes of planning, participation, and evaluation. The workshop includes asynchronous independent work and synchronous Zoom sessions.
