Agricultural Training in a Year of Unprecedented Hunger [Photo credit: ARI] The United Nations calls 2022 a “year of unprecedented hunger.” In just three years, the number of people facing food insecurity has jumped from 135,000,000 to 345,000,000. One of the ways your Mission & Service gifts are working to address hunger is by supporting agricultural training centres like the Asian Rural Institute, where Marita and Ester are among the 32 participants studying now. Its long-standing partnership with the United Church stretches back to 1995. From the beginning, mobilizing communities to share ideas and best practices has been at the forefront of the work of Women for Change. Now, one of the key areas of work supported through Mission & Service is building climate resiliency, because women bear the brunt of climate change. |

Advocate for an End to Hunger!
Canadian Foodgrains Bank is seeking passionate people to attend the Hunger on the Hill event in Ottawa from October 19 to October 25, 2022. You will have the chance to participate in learning experiences, discussion with MPs, and dialogue with peers. By engaging in this meaningful opportunity, you will join like-minded people to work together toward ending global hunger.
