What a historic General Council it has been! It was held virtually, spanning over seven months and also marked the election of the first Indigenous woman as Moderator, the Rev. Dr. Carmen Lansdowne.

A Commitment to Harm Reduction

At General Council 44 virtual decision sessions, the United Church committed to joining harm reduction advocates and community and medical services across the country in calling on the Federal Government to decriminalize illicit substances for personal use.
