Dr Manoj Kurian is director of the new Commission of the Churches on Health and Healing; Ms Athena Peralta is director of the new Commission on Climate Justice and Sustainable Development; and Rev. Dr Benjamin Simon is the new director for the Commission on Education and Ecumenical Formation (EEF), who will also serve as the dean of the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey (EIB). Other appointments include: Ms Abigayle Chesca Bolado, programme executive for Youth Engagement in the Ecumenical Movement (YPEM) Dr Michael Buttrey, project officer for Faith and Science Dr John Christensen, project officer for the Ecumenical Disabilities Advocates Network (EDAN) and Health and Healing Dr Ani Ghazaryan Drissi, professor of Ecumenical Theology, programme executive for Ecumenical Theological Education (ETE) Dr Jonas Jorgensen, advisor on Freedom of Religion and Belief Dr Judith Königsdörfer, consultant on the Role of the Churches in the World Today Mr Iskandar Majlaton, local programme coordinator, Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel WCC general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay welcomed the new appointments. "It gives me great joy to welcome and congratulate all those who have been appointed recently to various positions,” he said. “Some have been with the WCC and have now been appointed to new posts, and others are new to the fellowship.” Pillay added: “We welcome them all and trust and pray that they will enjoy the new responsibilities they have been assigned to contribute to the work of the WCC.
