The Christian Recorder - Bethel AME Church Pittsburgh Receives Historic Reparations Land Grant from Pittsburgh Penguins

Watch the video of the press conference here.
Last Friday, Bethel AME Church Pittsburgh announced a land deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins in which 60,000 square acres of land was restored to the church. Bethel's original building was forcibly sold under eminent domain in the 1950s as part of an urban renewal project. The church's pastor Rev. Dale Snyder and the congregation have been advocating for reparations from the city and the Pittsburgh Penguins in recognition of the loss of property value and economic potential the congregation suffered.  The church plans to develop the land into mixed-use affordable housing.
