Welcome to your bumper update on the Act2 Project

Your Act2 Update

Join us in our biggest national project in 45 years

Greetings from Act2!

I am pleased to offer this update on the national work of the Act2 Project.

Act2 is born of the conviction that now is a critical time for the Uniting Church to consider afresh the ordering of our life. We’re seeking to do this as a whole Church, discerning God’s call for our future, and we need everyone’s voice!

Over the last month the Act2 Project Unit has been working hard to invite the whole Church into the work of Act2. We’ve reached out to over 1000 ministers, local leaders, congregations and faith communities across Australia. We've been deepening our engagement with key leaders and councils of our Church, and have now developed and launched resources for local communities and their leaders.

We were also excited to launch an invitation to Uniting in Prayer, a national time of prayer across the Uniting Church planned for 28 May - 22 June this year.

We're adding more opportunities all the time for people, communities and councils of our Church to take part in the work of this Project - the biggest and most potentially transformative one we've undertaken in 45 years. Read on and consider how you might be involved.

We look forward to sharing with you on discerning God’s call for the future of our Church.

Grace and peace,

Andrew Johnson
Act2 Project Lead

Pray

Register for Uniting in Prayer

Between Pentecost and the Uniting Church Anniversary this year, we're inviting every person who calls the Uniting Church home to join in 26 days of prayer. This national event is an opportunity to come together in thanksgiving and hope to pray and seek the leading of the Spirit for our future.

We have lots of exciting things planned, and resources that will land on 17 April to help you take part in a variety of ways - in worship, study and prayer groups, and at home.

Register yourself or your community now!

Resources for communities of faith out now

You can now download a suite of resources to introduce Act2 to your community, including a video, posters to display in your gathering space, some notices for your newsletters and announcements, and a guide to help you have a conversation as a Church Council or leaders group.

We've now shared these resources with over 1000 ministers and congregations. If your community didn't receive them, please get in touch!

Church Council Conversations

A new resource is here to help your Church Council or leaders group share with the Act2 Project. The insights of local communities of faith will directly contribute to shaping the options and directions we offer to the Church in the next phase of the Project - so don't miss this opportunity to tell us how it is in your context.
