Through Mission & Service, the arms of your generosity stretch wide, reaching into schools, camps, hospitals, shelters, prisons, and churches with three main goals: to help transform lives, deepen meaning and purpose and build a better world. Mission & Service is one of our church’s best answers to the question What would Jesus do?

“Narnia with kid actors and a soundtrack” is how The Scribbler’s Story Project - a series of podcasts supported through Mission & Service gifts - describes itself. With help of your generosity, new episodes are being released every Monday this summer, taking children on a uniquely fun adventure to engage with deep, spiritual questions.

Lindsay Vautour, the United Church’s Engagement and Stewardship Associate, started attending a United Church camp at the tender age of five. There, she not only met lifelong friends and gained job skills as a counsellor, but she says it helped chart a course that eventually led her to work for the United Church of Canada.

Today’s pilgrimage hotspots include Oberammergau in Germany, Lourdes and Taize in France, and of course, the Holy Land. And here in Canada, thousands of Christian pilgrims make their way to the small town of Napanee, Ontario to visit a small United Church with big history each year. Here’s why.

Mission & Service Certificates to Be Delivered This Summer

Every day, we help transform lives through Mission & Service—and we couldn’t do it without you. Thank you for your support!

Your certificate of thanks, as well as copies of the 2021 Mission & Service report, will be arriving in the mail this summer. Please highlight them in your community of faith and celebrate the generosity of your people.

Help Support Ukrainian Refugees

More than 6,000,000 Ukrainians have fled their homes for safety in neighbouring countries since the devastating invasion began. Many refugees are struggling to meet basic needs while grieving the loss of family, friends, and home. You can help.

For just $25, you can give a hygiene package with items like toothpaste, laundry detergent and disinfectant. For $38, a food basket of staples. For $40, a hygiene package and incontinence products.

All of these gifts go directly to support Ukrainian refugees through our Mission & Service partner ACT Alliance. Please make a gift today.

Congregational Stewardship/Generosity

This is your resource to help you grow generous disciples and gather the resources you need to transform yourselves, your community, and your world to be closer to God. Please modify and use these ideas in your context.

A Summer Gratitude Project

To help restore your spirit and gear up for the fall, use some time this summer to make a list of some of the people you are thankful for and what they have done to earn your gratitude.

Then, write each one a brief thank you note or email or drop in to thank them in person.

They will appreciate it and you will feel good for doing it.

Feeding Generosity in Kids This Summer

Are you worried about what to do this summer to help the young people in your life (and maybe you, too!) grow in generosity and combat becoming ego-fueled goblins? Vicki Nelson, the Community of Faith Stewardship Support staff for Western Canada shares some ideas. Read them on the Broadview webpage.
