With COVID-19 related public health restrictions and workplace safety measures lifted across Canada communities of faith are once again in a position to hold in-person meetings with their entire membership.

As a result, GS111 Temporary Amendment of Bylaws re: Pastoral Relations; Temporary Amendment re: Congregational Annual Meeting has not been extended. Effective July 1, 2022, communities of faith are required to revert to the decision-making polity and procedures prescribed in The Manual, 2022, relating to pastoral relations and annual meetings. For more information please read the news post.

Pastoral Relationships Equity Research Project

Pastoral Relationship thriving with Equity Research Project

Racism, ableism, heterosexism, sexism, cissexism, and other forms of oppression continue to exist in The United Church of Canada. These systemic inequities are experienced by many across the church, including ministry personnel.

The Pastoral Relationship Equity Research Project is a qualitative research project that seeks to identify patterns of inequity experienced by ministry personnel across all regions of The United Church of Canada, and to make recommendations for change. “Equity-seeking” ministry personnel are invited to respond to this online survey. Responses will remain confidential. Survey results will help to determine patterns and trends experienced by ministry personnel across the United Church. Find full background and details at the UCC Equity 22 website.
