Committee votes to approve formation of Advisory Committee for LGBTQIA+ Equity On its first day of meeting, the General Assembly Ministry Coordination Committee focused on LGBTIA+ inclusion in the denomination. — Eric Ledermann Ecumenical and Interfaith Committee approves development of template for interchurch partnerships Global Covenant Agreements (GCAs) will enhance the creation of partnerships. — Jerry Van Marter Immigration Committee asks assembly to assist asylum seekers by urging Presbyterians with legal and interpretation expertise to help  Still to come: should the PC(USA) call itself an accompaniment and sanctuary church? — Leslie Scanlon International Engagement Committee prayerfully listened and engaged numerous global issues The topics voted on by the committee include: Israel/Palestine, the Doctrine of Discovery, the use of sanctions, humanitarian efforts in Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Russian-Ukrainian war. — Eric Ledermann Standing Rules Committee completes its work On its last day of meeting, the Standing Rules Committee discussed the cost of translating all GA material and a complete revision of the Standing Rules, among other things. — Stephen Salyards Guiding Statement from Vision 2020 team approved by committee The document calls PC(USA) to be prayerful, courageous, united, serving and alive. —Jerry Van Marter General Assembly Entity Policies and Procedures Committee begins by recommending entity leadership and working out agency relationships The committee voted to re-elect the Rev. Dr. Diane Givens Moffett as president and executive director of the Presbyterian Mission Agency and did not pass a commissioner resolution that would have provided more oversite to the Board of Pensions. — Stephen Salyards Financial Resources Committee considers future of PC(USA) Special Offerings, affirms work of Presbyterian Foundation The committee did not find a way to increase funding for the Evangelical Seminary of Puerto Rico. — Leslie Scanlon
