WCC NEWS: WCC extends condolences on passing of Protopresbyter Prof. Dr Milan Gerka

Photo: Ivas Kupcis/WCC 15 November 2021 In a letter of condolence, Sauca wrote that Gerka remains in the prayerful memory of many Christians across the globe. “Father Milan dedicated entirely his life to serving God and his church,” wrote Sauca. “Acting in various positions with ecumenical implications, he became an ambassador for a dialogue of the heart, showing that building bridges is about people, about relationships, and not least about friendships.” Gerka succeeded, Sauca added, because he valued each and every person in his and her dignity as being created in the image of God.  “On behalf of the World Council of Churches, I extend our profound condolences to his family, his parish, the academic community, and to the entire Orthodox Church of Czech Lands and Slovakia,” wrote Sauca. “May his memory be eternal!"   WCC Condolences letter for Protopresbyter Prof. Dr Milan Gerka See more
