Giving Tuesday: November 30
Giving Tuesday is just a week away, on Tuesday, November 30. You can make a difference through Gifts with Vision by giving the gift of a COVID-19 vaccine to a person who lives in a country still being devastated by the pandemic.
Living into Our Full Potential
December 3 is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. In this new video, Minister Darla Sloan speaks about being a minister living with a disability, as well as her experience with the daughter of her partner who lives with multiple disabilities. She offers a perspective on how the church can become more welcoming and inclusive, as well as a theological perspective on integrating this work in ministry. A study guide to accompany the video will soon be available on our Disability and Inclusion webpage.
Leadership Counts Launches
Leadership Counts is a voluntary survey of ministry personnel, national committee members, and national and regional council staff. (Watch your email, or check your spam folder, for your personalized invitation.) This survey invites church leaders to voluntarily share information about their racial identities, gender identities, disabilities, languages spoken, and more. Through this survey process, much more can be learned about the diverse identities present among United Church leaders. Why this survey? United Church General Secretary, the Rev. Michael Blair, explains that “we have made many commitments to equity over time. How do we know we are making progress in these areas?” Find out more.
Your Generosity Matters: Hope Comes in the Form of a Vaccine
On Hope Sunday, with Giving Tuesday around the corner, it’s a good time to remind folks that for many people these days, hope comes in the form of a vaccine. And Giving Tuesday is a good time to share it. |
