UC National News - Easter Week - 16 April 2020 - An Easter people, Prayers for the Pacific, PPE donations and more

Easter People speaking hope into darkness
The message of hope found in the death and resurrection of Christ was proclaimed in people’s homes across the country as Uniting Church members celebrated Easter in new and creative ways. Here are a few highlights.

Praying for our Pacific brothers and sisters

UCA President Dr Deidre Palmer has asked Uniting Church members to uphold in prayer the people of Vanuatu, Fiji, Solomon Islands and Tonga in the aftermath of Tropical Cyclone Harold.

Responding to COVID-19 with Hope and Support

The medical, social and economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been immense. Amid the suffering we can draw hope from the way individuals and communities have stepped up and helped each other through these hard times.
This Sunday Theologian-in-Residence Rev. Dr Ji Zhang is leading worship livestreamed via the Assembly Facebook page at 10am (AEST). Check out our list of Churches livestreaming or offering podcasts of their services in each Synod and in our multicultural communities.

WCC Assembly 2021

The World Council of Churches is inviting young people from its member churches to engage in its 2021 Assembly in Karlsruhe. There are two opportunities which young adults in the Uniting Church might consider.
The Assembly website is constantly being updated with ministry resources and suggestions. If you have something to add, please email them to comms@nat.uca.org.au
