Board Connections - The latest news from the Board of Pensions

From our President: God was leading us back home

“We never felt anxious and were confident in the need to return … even there your hand shall lead me.”

Board of Pensions offers dues relief and deferments to churches and employers

The Board of Pensions is extending dues relief and other assistance to churches and employers as we move through the COVID-19 crisis.
Coronavirus information

New updates regarding your benefits, including:
  • Deductibles and copayments waived under PPO and EPO options for inpatient treatment of COVID-19 at a network hospital
  • Changes to tax-advantaged accounts and reimbursement of over-the-counter drugs
  • How current legislation affects and enhances your Retirement Savings Plan account
  • Disability payments continued regardless of whether or not disabled members are able to attend doctor's appointments or provide medical information

EAP and Medical Plan services you can access at home

During this time of high stress and uncertainty, you can get the support and care you need — without leaving home — with the Employee Assistance Program and telehealth services through the Medical Plan.

For members enrolled in any of the three medical options through the Board of Pensions (PPO, EPO, or HDHP), you have access to a telemedicine option, provided by Teladoc. And when you use Teladoc, all copays will be waived through June 30, 2020, for PPO, EPO, and HDHP enrollees.

To help expedite a Teladoc visit request should you need one, complete your registration and medical history now through the Teladoc website or mobile app, available on the iOS App Store or Google Play. If you need to request a Teladoc appointment for a coronavirus-related concern, request a “first available” appointment for fastest service.

Take control of your well-being during uncertain times

Practicing self-care in all areas is essential for coping with the challenges that face us, both individually and as a community. Call to Health can help.

Sermon from Rev. Frank Clark Spencer, Board President, on Day1

In his sermon for the fifth Sunday in Lent, which aired March 29, the Rev. Spencer says God simply commands Ezekiel, “Prophesy!” It’s not so much an answer as an invitation to participate in whatever God is doing in the world — and that invitation is ours as well.
Modified business hours

We join in prayer with others throughout the Church during these challenging times. Our service representatives are working remotely to continue to serve you, and we have temporarily modified our business hours to Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET. If you have questions, call us at 800-773-7752 (800-PRESPLAN).

In observance of the Easter holiday, the Board will be closed from 3 p.m. ET Thursday, April 9, through Friday, April 10.

This Sunday, April 12, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) invites you to share your joyous expressions of Easter with its digital Easter Worship service. The video, with captions in English, Spanish, and Korean, will be publicized on several PC(USA) outlets, including pcusa.org, on Thursday, April 9, as well as emailed to churches and mid councils.
