OUR PEOPLE

Celebrating Older Persons Sunday this October

October is a special time for Uniting Church communities across Australia to celebrate Older Persons Sunday – a day to recognise the gifts, contributions and rights of older people in our churches and wider society.

Aligned with the United Nations’ International Day of Older Persons (1 October), Older Persons Sunday invites us to confront ageism and reflect on how we can build communities that honour dignity, celebrate wisdom and nurture hope across all generations.

Churches are encouraged to choose any Sunday in October that best suits your context to mark the occasion.

To support your congregation's celebration, the Assembly has produced a comprehensive and flexible worship resource.
