Merry Christmas from Ghost Ranch

Winter Snow by Robin Keck

Hello Friend,

Merry Christmas!

As you reflect this winter day, we hope you look back on a special Ghost Ranch time that has brought you a moment of awe, wonder, or contemplation.

Wishing you light and love.

Paul Fogg and the Ghost Ranch Staff

"What I’d really like to give you for Christmas is a star…
Brilliance in a package, something you could keep in the pocket of your jeans or in the pocket of your being.

Something to take out in times of darkness, something that would never snuff out or tarnish, something you could hold in your hand, something for wonderment, something for pondering, something that would remind you of what Christmas has always meant: God’s Advent Light into the darkness of this world.

But stars are only God’s for giving, and I must be content to give you words and wishes and packages without stars.

But I can wish you life as radiant as the Star that announces the Christ Child’s coming, and as filled with awe as the shepherds who stood beneath its light.

And I can pass on to you the love that has been given to me, ignited countless times by others who have knelt in Bethlehem’s light.

Perhaps, if you ask, God will give you a star.

~Ann Weems, Kneeling in Bethlehem, The Westminster Press, 1980

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward all men.

Luke 2:8-14 KJ
