WCC NEWS: WCC executive committee will convene to monitor plans for 11th Assembly in 2022

The World Council of Churches (WCC) executive committee will meet 15 July by videoconference to monitor plans for the 11th WCC Assembly in Karlsruhe, Germany in 2022 in the context of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The executive committee will provide further direction for planning the WCC 11th Assembly and implications for holding the assembly as planned.

The WCC governing body will assess the current situation regarding COVID-19, taking into account the global situation and the German host context, and discuss the potential risks for holding the assembly. The WCC leaders will agree on framework to continue monitoring the potential impact of COVID-19 on the assembly.

The executive committee will also complete continued business from the executive committee meeting 17-20 May 2021, recording recent decisions on the Green Village building project and action on the 2021 revised budget.
