Business Session Highlights

Reports of Global Witness and Ministry, Church Growth and Development and the Anvil were received and adopted.

Several bills passed 2nd reading including: GGB08 CHRISTIAN RECORDER PUBLICATION;JA 01 CHILD AND YOUTH PROTECTION; LCO04 AME PUPLIT ALTAR CALENDAR; MIN15 RENEWAL OF THE LOVE FEAST.

Bills deleted include: GGDA13 EPISCOPAL COMMITTEE AUTHORITY

Requests for retirement granted: Bishop Vashti McKenzie; Bishop Gregory Ingram; General Officers: Dr. Richard Allen Lewis, Dr. George Flowers, Dr. James Harris and Dr. James Wade.

Character passed: All active bishops except Bishop Wilfred Messiah

Judicial Council will conduct trial for Bishop Wilfred Messiah as trial court at the seat of the General Conference

“And are we yet alive to see each other’s face”, never have those words been so humbly received with such gratitude and reverence as today.  We are observing and participating in this historic 51st Quadrennial Session. In 2020 the world was forced to stop. We experienced ups, downs, shock, apprehension, fear, losses, and isolation. We had more questions than answers. Then like a life raft floated out to those treading water came the vaccine. Finally, we are emerging like butterflies from our cocoons. A bit wiser and very aware of our surroundings and how we move. Sanitizers and masks are valuable accessories.
