Share Your Centennial Plans!

Is your community of faith or group commemorating The United Church of Canada's Centennial? Not sure what you will do? Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Host a community meal: A BBQ, potluck, or even some simple baked goods to share amongst the community is a great way to come together!
  • Organize a service project: Could a community garden need some tending to? Or is a ravine littered nearby? Bring a group and give back to your community through volunteer work.
  • Plan a historical display or open house: Showcase your church's history and heritage.
  • Create a Centennial worship service watch party: Invite members to watch the Livestream service with your own special touches such as trivia and snacks.

Want to share your plans with the wider United Church community? Add your event to the map!

This interactive map will showcase the diverse ways that congregations and groups across Canada are commemorating this historic milestone. We can't wait to see what you have planned!

The United Church of Canada recognizes that it is complicit in harms experienced by members of the Two Spirit and LGBTQIA+ communities. In exploring concrete ways to repair broken relationships and seek wholeness in reconciliation, the Task Group has drafted the words to be shared by the national church to continue the next step of the journey.
