Weekly Outlook - Exegesis exams one year on

Dear Outlook readers,

A few weeks ago, I was speaking to someone new at a small party. I could tell I was older than her, but we seemed to both fall into the general category of "young adult." Somehow, the group started to share elementary school stories, and this young woman shared a story involving a school-issued iPad. When I was in elementary school, we used floppy disks. Suddenly, our age difference was clear.

This happened again when I was on Instagram recently and watched a reel of a peer telling their child that they were older than Google. Their child didn't believe them because who could be older than all-pervasive Google ... founded in 1998?

Because the internet is so deeply integrated into my life, I sometimes forget it is a grand experiment. We don't know the impact or possibility of this tool because we're living with it in real time.

We've been thinking a lot about the internet at the Outlook recently — how to make sound theology more discoverable, how to create meaningful connections and ministry digitally. So, we pulled together a webinar panel to continue this conversation and answer questions.

Mark your calendars for "Digital discipleship: How to create connectional ministry using social media" on April 4 at 7 p.m. I hope you can make it!

In Christ,
