Check out the video above to see what you can expect from Middle School Conference! Each year we welcome nearly 500 youth who have completed fifth, sixth, seventh, or eighth grade to Montreat’s Middle School Conference, held at Maryville College in Tennessee. During this conference, youth participate in various activites such as worship, small groups, and recreation events, that demonstrate how they are part of a larger Christian community and remind them that they are deeply loved by God.
This year our Middle School Conference theme is Igniting a Spark! We believe that God’s spark of grace and love is within each of us. But how do we respond to and nurture the spark? How do we “fan the flame,” joining with others to share God’s message with the world? As we consider these questions, the biblical stories of Jesus, Mary his mother, Isaiah, and the Apostles will be our guide and illustrate how other people of faith have responded. We will worship and play, study and build relationships as we celebrate God’s spark within us and the ways the Spirit moves amidst us all.
