Special Asian Heritage Pentecost Service

Looking for something unique for Pentecost? We are delighted to share a special 50-minute downloadable worship service with churches for Pentecost, May 23, created by United Church ministers of Asian heritage. This worship service will be shared using six languages in the hopes of embodying the spirit of the Pentecost experience, and subtitled in English and French. Watch for it to be released on The United Church of Canada YouTube channel on May 18.

Support Circles for People of Colour

Join with people of colour in The United Church of Canada for a time of sharing and support around experiences of racism in the church. This is a confidential, non-judgmental space for Indigenous, Black, East/Southeast/South Asian, Latino/a/x, mixed-race, and racialized people and all people of colour, to build supportive community in light of church-related racial trauma and grief.

LifeSpeak's May Featured Training: PTSD


According to The Canadian Mental Health Association, PTSD is a mental illness. It involves exposure to trauma involving death or the threat of death, serious injury, or sexual violence.

This month, as we acknowledge the importance of mental health, LifeSpeak wants to shine a light on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), through their training sessions and learning resources.

  • Check out this month’s featured training: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder with Dr. Simon Rego. Watch helpful videos on the important issues surrounding PTSD, including how it is assessed and diagnosed, as well as some prevalent treatment options.

  • Enjoy a great read of LifeSpeak’s expert blog post, Your Brain on Change by Cindy Smith, organizational and individual change management expert.

  • Join the Ask the Expert chat on May 26 at 12:00 p.m. ET, as Dara Roth Edney speaks on the topic "Supporting Yourself and Others through Anxiety and Depression." Learn more here. The French version with Dr Nadia Gagnier will be on May 27 at 12:00 p.m. ET.

Seeking Justice Together Conference




Citizens for Public Justice's Seeking Justice Together Conference will take an intersectional, interpersonal, and interconnected approach to issues of racism, Indigenous/settler reconciliation, 2SLGBTQQIA+ rights, disability rights, poverty in Canada, climate justice, and refugee rights.

The United Church has two complimentary registrations to offer. Let us know your involvement with the United Church and the name of a session that really appeals to you on this form, and you'll be entered in a draw to be held on Wednesday May 12, at noon.

Stories of Our Mission: COVID-19 Impacts Vulnerable Sex Workers

Everyone has felt the impacts of COVID-19, but vulnerable residents of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside have been hit especially hard, including people like Mikayla, a 47-year-old transgender woman. Your Mission & Service gifts support WISH, an organization that works to improve the health, safety, and well-being of women who are involved in Vancouver’s street-based sex trade.
