Inspiring Stories of Mission & Service for the New Year

Not long ago, we shared a story about why the format for Minutes for Mission is changing in 2021. In a nutshell, we want to tell relevant, timely stories about the difference that your gifts are making, especially in the midst of crisis. So, the new Minutes For Mission booklet called Your Generosity Matters features eight people whose lives are changed through Mission & Service. These stories are accompanied by videos, as well as slides and devotions. And each week, all year long, we are sharing current news stories that will keep you informed about how your generosity helps change lives right now.

Don’t miss a single story! Subscribe to the philanthropy newsletter, God’s Mission – Our Gifts, and receive all of the news stories straight to your inbox a month in advance of when they are scheduled to be shared in congregational worship. Thank you for helping transform lives through Mission & Service!

Called to Be the Church 2021

Good things happen when a church focuses times, energy, and money on others—it stimulates generosity and creative thinking that will enliven YOUR congregation. Called to Be the Church is a congregational giving program that offers resources and tools to encourage generosity and gratitude in your community of faith. It's coming soon to United Church communities of faith! Watch for it and launch your giving programs for 2021!

Guaranteed Livable Income Network

As the movement for a Guaranteed Livable Income continues to grow among the people of The United Church of Canada, the Guaranteed Livable Income network is seeking individuals to come forward to help grow the effort further as we plan actions in 2021! The network's co-chairs are Lois Wilson and Barry Morris. Please contact Lori Neale at justice@united-church.ca for more details, and to join the network.
