She led the morning staff prayer, then received an introduction to the WCC before discussing WCC programmes, including Just Community of Women and Men, Spiritual Life and Faith and Order, Young People in the Ecumenical Movement, and the WCC Commission on Climate Justice and Sustainable Development Frank explained her special tie to the morning prayer. “Having started a series of morning prayers where member churches of the WCC can introduce their tradition, March was the month for the Moravians,” she said. “I happily agreed and shared our liturgy ‘Prayer for life’ as well as some reflections on the Moravian Daily Text and the meaning of tables (Matthew 8:11) in our church life and ministry.” She expressed appreciation for “sharing the table” with WCC staff, for their rich insights, and the urgency of the ministry of the WCC. “With more and deeper appreciation I will observe and share the services provided by the WCC,” she said. “Topics, which resonate with me, are children and how they are affected by climate emergency, and how to involve young people in concepts for a more just and safe future.” Frank also expressed gratitude for considering theological questions of diversity and unity, gender-based violence, understanding of healing as part in a reconciliation process, theology of creation, and humanity being created in God’s image. “And finally: the multitude of materials available through the offices of WCC,” she said. “While we are preparing the 300th anniversary of the renewed Moravian Church in August 2027, it was inspiring to learn about your efforts for justice, peace, and reconciliation.” Frank concluded: “I am going to share within our church your love and energy for supporting Christ in building the kingdom of God, and that we all together – individuals, congregations, churches, organizations like WCC - are the hands and hearts and voices joining Jesus Christ in his ministry.” Visits to the World Council of Churches |
