As we celebrate Epiphany, the American Baptist Churches USA family rejoices in the radiant light of Christ that shines into our world and into our hearts.
On this day, we remember the Magi who followed a star and found the Savior. Their journey reminds us that God still guides seekers, still breaks into ordinary days with extraordinary grace, and still reveals Christ in places we might not expect. Epiphany proclaims good news: the light of Jesus is for all people, in every nation, language, and culture.
We give thanks that this same light continues to lead our American Baptist family. In a world often overshadowed by uncertainty and division, Christ shines as our hope and our center. As we worship, serve, and witness together, we celebrate that God is drawing people from every background into one Body, united in love and mission.
We also celebrate the gifts God has entrusted to us, just as the Magi brought their treasures to the Christ child. In this season, we offer our time, talents, and resources in gratitude, trusting that God will use them to bless our neighborhoods, our nation, and the world.
As Epiphany unfolds, may the light of Christ illuminate your path, warm your home, and inspire your witness. Together, as American Baptists, let us walk in that light with joy, courage, and hope, confident that “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it” (John 1:5).
