Pride: Celebrating Our 2SLGBTQIA+ Communities   As June begins, Pride celebrations take place in communities across the country. We wish the Two Spirit and LGBTQIA+ community a happy Pride Month and encourage allies to renew their commitment to fighting alongside the 2SLGBTQIA+ community for a future where all can live in freedom and security. Read the full statement. [Image credit: BrutallyHonest from Pixabay] The 2022 Accountability Report Is Now Available Online!  Throughout 2022 we were amazed at the generosity shown by those of you who have supported the work of Mission and Service. Whether it was through regular donations, emergency appeals or other methods, your generosity raised $24.5 million to help others.   As part of our commitment to you, we are sharing where those funds went, as well as stories of how your gifts were used. The 2022 Accountability Report will be mailed out in June but it is now live online for you to view.   Please take the time to read it and also to share the stories of those who have been impacted by the work you made possible.   Thank you for your continued support!  [Image credit: The United Church of Canada] Broadview Launches First Podcast Broadview Magazine has released its first podcast And Also Some Women—a series about biblical women from a feminist perspective. The podcast comprises five episodes that run approximately 30 minutes, and analyze different biblical women like Eve, Esther, and Mary Magdalene. It also features guest interviews with notable feminist theologians from across North America, including Diana Butler Bass, Amy-Jill Levine, Dorothy Lee, Sister Barbara Reid, Reuven Kimmelman, River Cook Needham, Susan Ackerman, and Amy Kalmanofsky. We also reinforce our insistence that governments, industries, and natural resource extraction companies need to do more to combat the climate crisis, since the scale and intensity of the fires is worsened by this global crisis. We pray for safety and for fire-quenching rain. We pray that the destruction of these fires will bring, in time, new life—renewed life. Read the full news story.
