God bless mothers, everywhere

"She is clothed with strength and dignity...

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue."

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we remember the ideal described in Proverbs 31.

This ideal however is not just for mothers, but for all women. All women are created in the image of our creator and are created for a purpose.

That’s why the WEA is so committed to elevating women in co-leadership in the Church.

Remember Esther in the Bible?

God did amazing things through Esther. Esther’s name symbolizes peace, joy, generosity, and justice.

Esther listened to God and recognized His calling on her life. Esther had wisdom. Esther never abused her authority. Esther loved God. Esther’s faith was strong. Esther displayed courage. Esther showed humility. Esther had patience.

As a global network of Evangelicals, our vision is that over the coming years, we will spark a movement of women and girls dedicating themselves to be an “Esther” and to applying their God-given gifts in the building of the Kingdom of God. I invite you into this vision.

World Evangelical Alliance

P.S. Our world needs more Esthers. You can help raise them up. Consider making a gift this weekend to our Esther Project – in honor of your mother or grandmother, or a woman you know who has the qualities of Esther.

Over two billion Christians in the world today are represented by three world church bodies. The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) is one of those, serving more than 600 million evangelicals belonging to churches that are part of 143 national Evangelical Alliances in 9 regions. Launched in London in 1846, the WEA unites evangelicals across denominations for prayer, evangelism, mission, theological education, religious freedom, human rights advocacy, relief, and engagement in a wide range of social issues. It speaks with one voice to United Nations, governments, and media in public or through behind-the-scenes diplomacy on issues of common concern to the Church.
