WCC NEWS: WCC executive committee to convene for assembly preparations and governing decisions

The World Council of Churches (WCC) executive committee will convene via videoconference from 30 May to 2 June to conduct regular business, and to prepare for the WCC central committee meeting in mid-June as well as the WCC 11th Assembly in August-September.

The executive committee will review follow-up to previous decisions on programmes, finance and governance; receive 2021 narrative programme reports and monitor programme work; and receive the report of the audit committee and appoint auditors for 2022.

The governing body will adopt the 2021 financial report and conduct financial monitoring; review membership matters; and complete additional delegate nominations for the WCC 11th Assembly. 

The WCC leaders will spend time monitoring the budget, and the impact of the pandemic and of the war in Ukraine. Some public issues statements are expected.
