As the political and economic crisis in Venezuela deepens, the country faces continued devastating shortages of food and medical supplies.  Hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans have fled their country as the human suffering increases, and US sanctions are exacerbating an already dire situation. There is an urgent need for a peaceful, democratic solution to the crisis and for greater humanitarian assistance to those in Venezuela as well as to those who have fled the country.

Please join us to hear from key partners from the Venezuelan Presbyterian Church about the challenges they face on the ground as well as their analysis of the current political and economic situation.  We will also hear from respected policy experts in Washington about the impact of US actions and sanctions.  Tune in to learn about possible avenues for meaningful solutions and advocacy for change.

Speakers:

Trained as a social worker, Miriam is Professor of Social Work at the University of Zulia. She has also served as National Coordinator of Presbyterian Women for the IPV.
