Wee Kirk planning team  voted to postpone the 2020 conference until 2021. They made this decision with a heavy heart. Nevertheless, they say they also recognize that there is a moral responsibility as brothers and sisters in Christ to care for one another. The new date is set for October 11-13, 2021, at Laurelville Mennonite Church Center. In the meantime, Wee Kirk has set up a Facebook page Wee-Kirk-Conference (as a place for connection and fellowship. Wee Kirk team is discussing ways of providing inspiration that will encourage and motivate you this fall. So visit the Wee Kirk website (https://wee-kirk-ne.org/ ) in September and beyond, where we hope to have videos available to you.

INFORMAL PRESBYTERY ZOOM MEETING AUGUST 11
The Upper Ohio Valley Presbytery is hosting another “Informal” Presbytery meeting on August 11, 2020 at 6:00 pm via Zoom. The invitation will be sent out to the email addresses of those that were on the listing for the previous Zoom meeting. The intent for this informal get-together is to refine methods for voting and speaking in preparation of future digital Presbytery meetings. There will be a brief introduction on Zoom functions and how we will use them in a meeting format. We would also like to give those attending a brief opportunity to talk to our group “What God has been doing in your church during this season.” Please plan to join us. If your church would like an email invitation sent to different commissioners, please send that information to Christine in our Presbytery Office at Christine@uovpresby.org

Ginny Teitt, director of NWMC and organizing pastor of Concord Presbyterian Church near Columbus, Ohio. “We hope to capture the fun and joy that is often a part of the morning meeting, and we hope to provide opportunities for the meaningful interaction that has made the NWMC dear to so many for so long.” Additional information will be available on the NWMC website as it becomes available, nwmcmission.org.

PEACEMAKING. During the March 14, 2020, stated meeting of Upper Ohio Valley Presbytery, an action was taken to encourage Presbyterians to write letters of encouragement to detainees in camps on our southern border, letters of faith, accompaniment, and support. There are still some detainees who have not had contact with the outside world in long periods of time. These letters have proven to be a lifeline. They can be written in English. In this period of pandemic, this need continues and increases. Please take this as a mission project now in your “sheltering at home time.” Place letters in a blank envelope and then another envelope and address and send to St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, ℅ CMDVP, 3809 East Third St., Tucson, AZ 85716. If you have questions, you can call Jackie Hutyera at 740/491-7251.
