Under the theme “Leading in the Age of Misleading: The Role of Churches in Countering Disinformation,” the conference will feature speakers from both church and information security realms.

In an era shaped by misinformation and artificially generated content, the need for moral clarity and truthful leadership has never been greater. The ECIC 2025 conference will explore how churches can act as beacons of truth, compassion, and integrity in a world increasingly influenced by false narratives.

The conference invites communicators, media professionals, and theologians to reflect on the communication and pastoral responsibilities of churches in confronting disinformation and fostering communities rooted in truth.

The European Christian Internet Conference (ECIC), established over 20 years ago, brings together a diverse array of digital professionals—from online pastors, digital strategists, and content creators, to web and social media managers and beyond. They represent a broad spectrum of churches and Christian organizations, reflecting the many expressions of Christianity across the continent.

The conference will be hosted by the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church. The 2024 ECIC was hosted by the World Council of Churches (WCC), which continues its involvement in organizing the annual conferences with a WCC representative on the ECIC board.

Registration is open through 14 August. Registration, programme, and more information about the conference: https://www.ecic.mobi/
