Mission and Service Easter Resources
If you’re getting ready to plan your Easter service, we have some Mission and Service resources for you! On the Mission and Service worship page, you’ll find our online Easter Impact Report which will help you to share the good work being supported by your Community of Faith. An Easter prayer, and PowerPoint slides that you can use to highlight the work of Mission and Service are available as well. And of course, our Mission and Service Easter donation link is live – supporting Mission and Service work in Canada and globally as the United Church moves into its next 100 years.
We extend our sincere gratitude for the overwhelming response to last week's "100 Words of Hope." Your engagement has been deeply moving.
In anticipation of Earth Week, we share Thea Sheridan-Jonah's reflective prayer, which implores us to engage with the realities of our environmental situation and to seek transformative action.
I pray an invitation to act, to make change, to choose the hard decisions, to be a co-creator of a healing world. I pray that we feel the grief, the grief that will move us enough to care enough to act. I pray for community, for the people and communities that pull us out of hopelessness, out of despair, and in with love. A love that pushes each of us, the love of community that keeps us going, that gives space for our passions, that keeps us accountable, that reminds us we are never alone. In your embracing name we pray. Amen.
