Five things to know about prescription drug benefits moving to Express Scripts
 
Starting January 1, 2021, Express Scripts will administer the prescription drug program for the Medical Plan. As the new year approaches, we are working closely with Express Scripts during this transition. Here's what you need to know.
 
Board increases Christmas gift for retired Assistance Program recipients 
 
Every year at Christmastime, the Board of Pensions sends a monetary gift to those who receive Housing and/or Income supplements through the Assistance Program. This year, we are happy to announce a 40 percent increase in the amounts of those gifts: $350 for single individuals and $700 for members with spouses. 
 
Medicare Supplement enrollees receive dues holiday
 
The Board of Pensions is pleased to announce that it will grant a December dues holiday for the Medicare Supplement Plan. So, those enrolled in the plan for December will receive dues-free coverage for that month.  
 
No More Humbugs webcast from Cigna
 
The holiday season is fast approaching, and, for many people, this time of year can cause feelings of stress, anxiety, and even sadness. And because of the coronavirus pandemic, these feelings may be compounded this year. 

Learn coping strategies to manage these emotions so you can find joy in the holidays. Attend the No More Humbugs: Emotionally Healthy Holidays webcast Wednesday, December 2, at 2 p.m. ET. This wellness webcast is presented by Cigna, the administrator of the Employee Assistance Plan (EAP)

Log in to Cigna’s EAP webcast portal to register for this webcast. If you are unable to attend December 2, an on-demand replay will be available in the portal after the live webcast concludes.  

The EAP is available to members with medical coverage through the Board of Pensions. It is not available to members enrolled in Triple-S, GeoBlue, or the Medicare Supplement Plan.

One date, two deadlines
 
You have until November 13 to 
  1. complete annual enrollment for 2021 benefits to make sure you’ll have the coverage you want; and
  2. complete Call to Health Level 1 to save on 2021 medical deductibles.* 
*You have until November 16 to enter challenges you joined by November 13 as completed.

Enrollment for 2021 Medicare coverage is open through December 7, 2020.

Register now for the last Well-Being Respite of 2020, on November 18, which focuses on the emotional/physical health dimension of wholeness and features the Reverend Larissa Kwong Abazia as the keynote speaker. Respites are open to all Benefits Plan members and spouses and surviving spouses. Step away from your daily routine and come to the well for spiritual renewal, mental stimulation, and thoughtful conversation.
