Slightly Dry? By Rev. Sheri D. Smith Clayborn, Contributing Writer I recently purchased a plant and the tag on it read, “Please water me when my soil is slightly dry.” Our six-year-old daughter, however, read, “please water me when my soul is slightly dry.” The young prophet’s words reminded me that we must periodically ask ourselves, regardless of how long we have been Christian, in the church, and fighting the good fight of faith, “Is my soul slightly dry?” Read More Here |

The Making of A Good First Lady By Robbie Colson-Ramsey I was home, doing what many of us have been for the past seven months, flipping through the over 300 channels we have. I suddenly stopped flipping on CNN when I heard a commercial that made a statement. CNN simply asked, “What qualities make a good first lady?” Now, you know they were not talking about the first lady of a church but for the United States. Read More Here |

The Divine Drama of Preaching Through Chosen Personality By Dr. Brandon A. A. J. Davis, Contributing Columnist Since the inception of this global pandemic, one of my areas of concern has been the black preacher and how they’re adjusting to preaching without the benefit of call and response. A lot of thought surrounding this subject has led me to have a conversation that is multifaceted and needed as preachers continue to wrestle with the mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical fatigue of pandemic preaching. The 22nd Session of the 19th Episcopal District RAYAC Convention Rev. Thato Mere, Contributing Writer
History is defined as a “continuous, systematic narrative of past events as relating to a particular people, country, period, person, etc., usually written as a chronological account.” I believe that history does not make itself; rather, it is made by those who have control of events in their hands.
