Why is Montreat so important? See the impact a youth conference can have your ministry. - This summer we will welcome over 3,500 youth from across the country to participate in meaningful worship, lively discussion, and practices of gratitude and fun during Montreat Youth Conference. As you decide if and when you would like to attend, we would like to share a few of the ways we’ve seen this event leave a lasting impression on youth who have gathered with us in this sacred space.
Strengthening a Group - It takes time for individuals to form deep and lasting relationships, which is why overnight trips and retreats are so important for youth ministry! When youth attend Montreat Youth Conference, they have a whole week to get to know and interact with other members of their group. This connection enables them to form new and strengthen existing friendships with their peers. And once formed, these friendships can serve as a cornerstone for your ministry, encouraging youth to attend weekly programming, invite others to join the group, or serve your congregation in other ways.
Investing in Young People - Montreat Youth Conference gives youth the opportunity to develop their faith as they grow and connect with other youth who share their core beliefs. In this space, youth gain the confidence to act as leaders, both among their peers and once they return home. In this way, youth are reminded that they are not only the future of the church, they are the now! To show our commitment to future generations, we are piloting a program which invites middle school students to attend week six of Montreat Youth Conference with the rest of their group.
