There are still some spots left - Ghost Ranch January Winter Immersions

3-WEEK WINTER IMMERSIONS

January 3-24, 2022 In Person

We shared a bit about winter immersions, where for three weeks traditional students from colleges and non-college life-long learners from across the country bask in the richness of the ranch, learn new skills, gain new friends, and are introduced to the culture and beauty of the Southwest.

A few spots remain - choose one track from the following:

  • Introduction to Silversmithing in the Southwest Tradition with Jamie Halpern and Steve LaRance - two spots opened up
  • Highlighted below - Archaeology, Geology and Paleontology For Explorers with Dr. Martha Yates and Gretchen Gurtler
  • The Spirit of Clay: Micaceous Pottery and other styles of pottery with Barbara Campbell
  • Digital Photography in Color and Black and White with Kent Bowser and John Hayden
  • Service Corps - Share your time and talent and spend a little time renewing - read more below.

Adult Service Corps - Choose 1, 2 or 3 Weeks

Good news! Adult Service Corps is being offered each week for all three weeks of January Term Winter Immersion weeks. Service Corps participants often work in small groups and form friendships while doing tasks that are very helpful to Ghost Ranch.

Participants give five (5) hours of service per day to Ghost Ranch projects in exchange for a reduced course registration fee, all meals, and dorm-style lodging. (Upgraded lodging may be available for an additional fee.)

Participants will do a variety of indoor tasks to be determined by the ranch. Most tasks will require a moderate amount of physical activity; light maintenance and construction, cleaning, organizing, painting, etc. No other course may be taken while in Service Corps. There may be a few fun activities and opportunities available, some at no cost and others with slight fees.

If you have any extra hand or power tools at home, and would like to donate them to Service Corps, we will happily accept. Also, please do bring your own work gloves.

Registration fee is $300 per week, which includes an Adult Service Corps T-shirt.

You can join in one, two or three weeks. If you do two sessions, the bridge night between weeks is comped.

Weekly sessions run January 3 – 9 | January 10 – 16 | January 17 – 23.

Our mission, with you as our partner, is a commitment to foster well-being and spiritual health through this historic, inspiring southwest landscape.

But we can’t complete our mission without you.
