Child safe in many languages

Ahead of Harmony Day 2021, the National Safe Church Unit shares a new set of posters sharing the Principles of a Child Safe UCA, now available in eight languages - Chinese, English, Fijian, Korean, Indonesian, Niuean, Portuguese and Spanish. 

Raising the Rate for good

Today UnitingCare Australia's National Director Claerwen Little joined others in Parliament House calling for a permanent increase to JobSeeker to enable people to meet their needs and live with dignity. The Government recently announced they would lift the rate by a wafer-thin $3.60 per day. It follows months of advocacy by UnitingCare, including a submission to the Senate Inquiry.

Assembly Standing Committee Update

The Assembly Standing Committee (ASC) met online from 12-14 March. Among other business, the ASC was updated on plans for the 16th Assembly in July, a new task group on Church in the Digital Age and approved an extension to arrangements for online Holy Communion until November 2021.
