You can change lives just by sharing information.

Mission & Service Advent Christmas Appeal 2020.
Friends,

It’s so easy to make a difference. I’m writing to ask you to share this Christmas Mission & Service appeal video or forward this email to your networks. By simply sharing information and giving people an opportunity to help, you can help change lives.

Although a vaccine is on the horizon, the impact of the pandemic continues to have a devastating impact on the most vulnerable among us.

We urgently need to come together and help the children, families, and people who need us, especially those who are going hungry.

David Beasley, Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme, says that the world could be facing “multiple famines of biblical proportions.” As many as 500,000,000 people are on the verge of acute hunger just as the world experiences the worst economic fallout since the Great Depression.

Please support people who need our help right now. Share the message of hope through Mission & Service with other people you think would want to help. If you haven’t already made a special Christmas gift, make a gift today!

Through our Mission & Service partnerships in Canada and around the world, I can assure you that your gift will help save lives. Your support will put food on the table for struggling families and provide emergency relief to families going hungry. What’s more, it will extend life-saving care and education about the virus as well as access to counselling services and spiritual support to help keep hope alive.

Matthew’s gospel talks about letting our light shine in good deeds. Just like the candles circling the Advent wreath that I so love, we shine more brightly when we do good work together.

Truly united, we can share Christ’s light of hope, peace, joy, and love and build a better world.

Thank you so much for your support.

A blessed Christmas to you and yours,

Sarah Charters, Acting Director of Philanthropy

PS: On December 20, the fourth Sunday of Advent or “love” Sunday, I am going to light a candle as I pray for those who receive support through Mission & Service. I will also pray for a renewed sense of how I can use my life to make a difference. Why don’t you join me and encourage others to do the same? Here’s a prayer we can offer together.

PPS: I am deeply grateful for every gift. Thank you for your generosity.
