Navigating cultural issues as a church and even personally as Christians can be complex at times. We wanted to pass along resources flowing from the work of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. They recently gave lectures from September to November regarding gender, sexuality and the church. We wanted to make you aware of this content and hope that you find it helpful as you consider these issues.

As our culture shapes a narrative around the issues of gender and sexuality, we are confronted with difficult conversations and decisions more frequently. As identity issues pervade, the Church is called to Know Truth and Live Truth in a world desperately needing Christ’s love.
The 8-week Gender, Sexuality & The Church series will dive deep into humanity’s Divine Design, the consequences of disordering that design, the historical context around gender & sexuality, plus present-day realities, and our response, as Christians, to those who are hurting – our neighbors, friends, families, and ourselves.

As we consider a new calendar year and the many attempts humans make to reinvent and renew ourselves, we spend several minutes in Revelation 21 to consider the God who can, and will, renew all things. Dean leads this devotional to encourage us to turn over our every part of our lives to the One who specializes on eternal renewal.
Michael Davis, EPC Assistant Stated Clerk and Chief Collaborative Officer, gives an advent devotional that challenges the Christian and non-Christian alike. During the holidays, our culture often presents the idea that all will be well when brokenness is corrected, and then offers a hope of worldly ways that will fix the broken things. Michael leads a thought provoking devotional about why fixing all of the wrongs without Jesus won’t bring true peace and yet why, as Christians, we are still called to be redemptive change agents whose displays of redemption flow from our hope in the Redeemer Himself.
